5 out of 5 stars - Space Opera at its finest! By AudibleAddiction on February 7, 2017

This box set includes all 3 books in the series so far. I reread the stories for a second time before reading the newest story. I'm just going to copy my review for book one to give you an idea of the books and the wonderful world that K.A. Finn has created.
The books are fabulous so if you enjoy Space Opera with wonderfully developed characters and a plot that will keep you guessing, read these books!!
ARES
Gryffin is a nomad, living out of his ship Ares in space far from earth. He is half human half machine as the result of horrific experiments done on children. He is a weapon and is feared and respected by many. The experiments were done at the hands of the Foundation which is an earth based militaristic government organization that attempts to control sectors and colonies in space. Terra is an officer for the foundation and is on assignment in an area of space very far from earth. Her captain is tasked with recruiting colonies to support the foundation so that more ships may come to the area. During a break on a space station, Gryffin saves Terra’s life which leads to major changes in both their lives.
The foundation believed all the subjects of the experiments died in an explosion and were surprised to learn that a man with implants aided one of their officers, this knowledge leads them on a witch hunt to track Gryffin down. I don’t want to say much more about that in fear of spoiling anything.
This book had me glued to my app at every free moment I had. It is a very interesting and often frustrating story with many characters that keeps you very interested. Sometimes I had trouble remembering one character from another, especially when they shared the same first letter of their name. It just took me a second though to figure out who it was so it wasn’t a big problem for me. The point is, that there are a lot of characters in this book! There were some major surprises and twists that I did not see coming despite my attempts to guess the future.
The book ends leaving you wanting more and I have already downloaded book 2 because I don’t want to wait to find out what happens next.
NEMESIS
Nemesis picks up about 10 months after Ares ended with Terra mourning Gryffin’s loss. We learn right away that Gryffin escapes his captors but he is seriously injured so he sets coordinates for Altar (sp?) and passes out from his injuries. Once he arrives on Altar, everyone is shocked to learn that he is alive but they are also not sure if he can be trusted because they don’t know if he is in control of himself.
The Nomad, Hunters, former Foundation and even some Rouge all work and train together to prepare for taking on the Foundation and stopping the Scientist. We also get to learn a lot more about the Scientist and why he started on his project of modifying children to create cyborgs. He’s a fickle (and immature) little bastard if you ask me.
[SLIGHT SPOILER] This is a spoiler but it happens in the first few minutes of the book but you can skip over it if you don’t want to know. We learn that Bray and Terra developed a friendship that slowly lead to a relationship. When I first read this, I really didn’t like it but I guess I couldn’t expect Terra to stay single forever. And that bond they created during the months Gryffin was thought to be dead was important later in the story so I came to understand why K.A. wrote it that way. I’d really like to see Bray get a woman of his own because I think he deserves to be happy with someone. I’m just a loyal Gryffin fan so of course I want Terra and Gryffin together.
